Safely in Poland

After a non-eventful flight I safely arrived in Poland on Thursday. My cousin Łukasz and his wife Ania met me at the airport inKrakow. We stopped to pick up their son Jakub & went to his parents home in Dąbrowa Górnicza where a wonderful meal was waiting to be consumed. his mother Maria has always made wonderful meals. We had a Dill Soup, Pork Roast, Cabbage Salad & Mashed Potatoes. They had my favorite beer Dębowe Mocne waiting for me.

After lunch, It was time to wander around  Dąbrowa Górnicza a little bit so I could exchange my money for Polish złoty (PLN). There are a number of Kantors (exchange) nearby, but you do want to shop for the best rate. The PLN is at the highest exchange rate I have seen since I was first here in 2004. I got 3.81 PLN - $1. I also picked up a SIM card for my iPhone so I could communicate with my family and friends and use my Apps.

The Day ended with getting together with Łukasz & Ania for dessert and getting some quality play time with their 1 year old

son Jakub. Jakub knew me from Skype, but was a little shy in person, but that changed quickly!

The first day in Poland has always been a "down" day, just in order to get settled.
