Benedictine Abby in Staniątki

DSC08111Sunday morning we started out by visiting the Benedictine Abby in Staniątki which is a village near Niepołmice. The day started out with some rain, but that did not deter us at all, as umbrellas did the job of pretecting just fine.

This trip I now have had the opportunity to see the wonderful architecture and beauty of many old churches. I have enjoyed old churches ever since my trip to Mexico when I was 18 years old.

St. Wojciech (Adelbert) is the home parish for the nuns in this Benedictine Abby. This year they were doing some renovations to celebrate their 800th Anniversary.

It amazes me all the time that these place in Europe have been around for so long & the United States was not even a thought in anyone's mind. The USA is such a young country & Europe is so full of history.
